Willie Randolph Takes Bench Coach Job With Brewers

MLB.com is reporting that the Milwaukee Brewers today named Willie Randolph bench coach. The announcement was made by Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Melvin.

“We are very pleased to add Willie to the organization as he brings recent National League expertise and success to our coaching staff,” said Melvin. “His reputation as a player is a quality that will be valuable in his teaching and coaching of our talented young team. Willie is a professional both on and off the field.”

I would have bet anything he was going to resurface with the Yanks… It’s a good thing I don’t gamble.

Went to my first Mets game, a Mayors Trophy game at Shea, in '73. We beat the Yankees 8-4 and I was hooked. I marched in two Banner Day parades, and before the Grand Slam single, there was the "Hendu Can Do" grand slam - I was there. I've collected Mets memorabilia all my life and started Mets Merized Online to feed my addiction.
