Church Back In The Two Spot – It’s About Time!
I just took a look at tonight’s lineup card and I must say that I’m lovin’ what I see…
Ryan Church is back in the number two spot of the lineup and Moises Alou makes his long awaited return batting behind Carlos Beltran in the number five spot. This is a lineup with some teeth in it…
After an earlier stint in the two spot for Church, the Mets reeled out a 5-0 record and then just as the team was on a roll, he was mysteriously pulled out and replaced by Luis Castillo. The Mets have lost 8 of 12 ever since.
I love Church in the two spot because he brings a rare energy into the top of the lineup on a team that has lacked pizazz so far this season. Church has been a pleasant surprise and I would shudder to think where the Mets would be without him.
Here is tonight’s lineup against the Diamondbacks…
SS Jose Reyes
RF Ryan Church
3B David Wright
CF Carlos Beltran
LF Moises Alou
1B Carlos Delgado
C Raul Casanova
2B Luis Castillo
RH John Maine
Lets kick some butt in the desert tonight!
