Hell Freezes Over – Randolph Drops Delgado To Sixth

An article by posted on April 23, 2008

Sometimes logic eventually prevails when it comes to the New York Mets.

In a surprise move, Willie Randolph finally dropped Carlos Delgado down to sixth in the order. It was a move that Mets fans have been screaming for on Mets blogs everywhere.

Ryan Church will step in at bat fifth behind cleanup hitter Carlos Beltran. This may only be temporary as the Mets expect to activate Moises Alou from the DL some time this weekend. Here is tonight’s lineup against the Nationals.

  • SS Reyes
  • 2B Castillo
  • 3B Wright
  • CF Beltran
  • RF Church
  • 1B Delgado
  • LF Pagan
  • C Schneider
  • P Santana
  • I’m looking forward to seeing the Nationals’s new digs.
